Jay Ragma
Jay Ragma (b. 1992) is a visual artist from Caloocan City, known for his intricate paintings composed of symmetrical, threadlike lines that radiate rhythm, energy, and illusion. Inspired by the spirit of Italian Futurism, particularly its reverence for speed and modernity, Ragma creates visual fields where structure and movement collide.
His canvases are meticulously rendered in linear formations, horizontal, vertical, diagonal that pulse with intensity and simulate volume and vibration. These tightly organized masses create a sense of velocity and depth, resembling virtual tapestries brimming with kinetic tension.
While rooted in abstraction, Ragma’s work offers more than visual patterns; it invites the viewer into a meditative experience of motion and perception. Each piece becomes an optical event, where form, speed, and sensation unfold in constant dialogue. In a world rushing forward, Ragma captures movement itself disciplined, hypnotic, and alive.
